Tip No. 1 – go for big players. For the whole year our stone paper notebooks marketing had two targets. First one was retail buyers, like our fans from social media eshop visitors, buyers from Etsy & Amazon. Second one wholesale like paper products factories, business presents shops or nature friendly products distributors. To tell you the truth, 80 percent of our income comes from the big players. If you look at our one-year marketing expenditures we spent more money pushing the retail section, but it cost a lot to educate thousands of people of what is stone paper and what benefits it has, and it’s much cheaper to find the big guys that already have a huge audience and buy thousands of notebooks on each order.
Tip No. 2 – make sure your visuals “tell the story”. If you decide to make or distribute stone paper notebooks beautiful design is not enough. Since their price is still usually a bot higher (compared to traditional notebooks) means people buy them not only for looking good, but also because they are tree free, water resistant and durable. If your photos have no visual sign of their benefits most likely people won’t read what’s written below the photo. We made this mistake in our beginning, so now you can notice that our pictures usually contain either stones, water or anything else related with our notebooks benefits.
Tip No. 3 – keep searching for new products. Almost everything, that is made of traditional paper, can also be made out of stone paper. Obviously not all markets are ready for that, because sometimes stone paper makes print more complex or price is the factor. But remember, that maps, cups, brochures, packing paper and many other things can also be made of stone paper. Sky is the limit, and as the stone paper market keeps expanding there is great chances for stone paper production to become cheaper, so make sure you offer stone paper for different paper products producers.
